In Memory of Jack Copic
Jack Copic, Class of 1965, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Kavanagh Hospice House in Des Moines.
Jack was born September 8, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa to Kenneth and Loretta (Coones) Copic. He served in the U. S. Army following high school graduation, Jack and Peggy were married in 1972 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. He was co-owner of IAC Corporation and a member of Wakonda Christian Church. Jack loved spending time with his family and he enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, and the outdoors.
Jack is survived by his wife, Peggy; children, Todd (Sherry) and Melanie (Mark) Friend; grandchildren, Chloe, KateLynn, Aaron, and Ashton; brother, Jim; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jack served tirelessly at Lincoln! He was president of the BLH Club and co-chaired the first four “after prom safe parties.” He served as president of the ALHS Alumni Foundation, was on the Board, and was inducted into the Lincoln High School Alumni Hall of Fame in 1998. Jack was a friend to many and he will be missed.
