The Classes of 1948 and January 1949 held their 60th Reunion September 19-20. They had a hospitality room at the Holiday Inn on Fleur Friday night and some attended the homecoming game. Saturday brought a social and dinner and comedian/magician Ben Ulin entertained.

The Class of 1958 met September 19-21 for its 50th Reunion. Some of the committee members are welcoming old classmates: Geneva Armel, Bruce Herman, Joan Lukenbill, Sandy Rhodes, Greg Rosky, Judy Cross, Jay Flatt and Jan Bartelt. They enjoyed the homecoming game Friday night, school tour Saturday afternoon, dinner at Echo Valley Country Club Saturday night and brunch at Bambino’s restaurant Sunday morning.

The Class of 1963 held its 45th Reunion on June 21st. The day was packed, beginning with breakfast at the Old Country Buffet on S. E. 14th Street. After breakfast, some took off to golf at Countryside, while others met up at Lincoln for a tour. A catered dinner was served at Blank Club House and Stover’s took our class picture. Lyle Spilman put a CD to music and drove us down memory lane. Classmates rounded up lots of prizes and Norm Singleton had t-shirts made for each of us. Brad Davenport gave us something special to think about: Most of us were born in 1945, and it’s our 45th Reunion; we’re turning 63 and we graduated in 1963.

The Class of 1968 held its 40th Reunion June 15-16. Friday night classmates met up with other alumni at Rookies on 63rd. Saturday night a dinner was held at Wakonda Golf and Country Club. In addition to the class reunions, several female classmates get together monthly for dinner. If interested, contact Londa Larson Fuller at (515) 256-7121 for details.

The Class of 1973 held its 35th Reunion September 19-20. Classmates had their own section at the homecoming game Friday night, and then went to Baratta’s for pizza and catching up with one another. Saturday started with breakfast at the Old Country Buffet and later some played golf at Willow Creek and some toured the school. Willow Creek was also the location for a buffet dinner, more visiting and class pictures by Dan’s Portraits.

The Class of 1978 held its 30th Reunion on July 18-19. July 18th there was a casual evening held at Rookies on 63rd Street in Des Moines (open to all classes). The evening was warm, but beautiful, and although there was no official count, a good guess is that about 150-200 people showed up. Many had never been to a reunion; some were “regulars.” We were outside and there was a lot of reconnecting going on. Kim Volz started a list of people who attended Weeks and will be working on a mini reunion of those classmates. Fun was had by all and about ten closed the bar, not wanting the evening of fun to end. On Saturday there was a dinner at Izaak Walton League with around 104 participating. Entertainment was “Too Cool,” the band in which Mary Marturello is a member; joining her in back up vocals was the daughter of Mark Marturello. Brian Gaulmer produced a hilarious DVD doing a comparison of 1978 Lincoln to 2008 Lincoln. Many things have changed! During the day on Saturday some chose to golf and about 20 took a tour of Lincoln. The committee would like to thank all the people who helped make this a fun weekend.

The 25th Reunion of the Class of 1983 was held on Saturday, June 28th. Classmates took a tour of Lincoln during the day. The evening ended with a delicious catered dinner at Echo Valley Country Club with lots of visiting such as between Vic Campos, Jr. and Kim Kesselring Beltrame.

Class of 1988 held its 20th Reunion September 19-20. Friday included a tour of school, family-friendly tailgate and football game, and later adults went to Rookies. Dinner was held at Blank Club House Saturday with some going on to Francie’s to stretch out the reunion.

The Class of 1998 held its 10th Reunion on July 12th. Classmates met at InPlay in downtown Des Moines for a pasta dinner, dessert, beer and prizes. Entertainment included dancing, games and a continuous slide show . Pictures and reunion info can be found at
