Our Mission

Our mission and purpose is to make post-secondary success possible for Abraham Lincoln High School students through scholarships and educational support. The secondary purpose of the Foundation is to foster alumni relations with the school through our membership activities. We are a 501 (c)(3)

Abraham Lincoln High School  was established in 1923. To celebrate 100 years, the ALHS Alumni Foundation is helping to make improvements to the Hall of Fame wall. This project is planned to be completed by Fall 2023.

James Ellwanger is a nationally recognized artist specializing in large-scale commissioned sculpture pieces. His most recognizable public-space sculpture in the Midwest, Shattering Silence, commemorates the first decision written by the Iowa Territorial Supreme Court.

Kathleen  Weinburg became Associate Director of Nursing with the Iowa Board of Nursing. Governor Terry Branstad appointed her Executive Director for the Iowa Board of Nursing in 2013 where she continues to serve today.

Nancy Kuemmerle '66

Nancy Kuemmerle earned doctorate in biomedical sciences focusing on cancer research. She had training positions at Princeton University, Tufts University, and the Medical College of Virginia. Dr of Osteopathy she was a oncologist at White River Ruction VA Medical Center in Vermont.

David Landess US Naval Commanding Officer of VF-103 "The Jolly Rogers" deployed aboard USS John F. Kennedy and later Operations Officer of the U.S Navy's Sixth Fleet. Dave retired from active duty and currently is CEO at Prevailance Inc, a company that provide professional training to the US government.
